Rebecca Santos | Health & Weight loss Coach, Mindset Mentor, Accountability Partner, Low Carb-ish Queen, #almost40, Proving everyday that you can be a Hot Mess & Healthy!

The gritty reality of life doesn't pause for recording schedules, and neither do I. Navigating the unpredictable tides of motherhood and my health journey, I've learned the art of adaptability—something I'm eager to unpack with you. As you join me in this episode, you'll hear how the chaos of last-minute podcasting hurdles parallels our quest for a healthy lifestyle, where consistency often trumps the elusive perfection we all chase. I'll open up about the life lessons learned from these challenges and how they've reinforced my commitment to wellness, even when the drive-through seems like the only dinner option.

There's an undeniable buzz that comes from being in a room where everyone is rooting for your success, and I felt it in full force at a recent podcasting event, with my husband by my side—his presence a testament to unwavering support, despite his unfamiliarity with the podcast world. This episode explores the magnetic energy of connecting with individuals who mirror our ambitions and aspirations. Whether you're a fellow podcaster, a health enthusiast, or simply a parent trying to keep it all together, join me for a heart-to-heart on how these communities empower us to embrace personal growth and self-care, and how they can reignite the flames of our own aspirations.

Speaker 1:

I too am a working mom of too little and self-proclaimed hot mess mom. All my life I've struggled with trying to maintain a healthy weight and feel good in my skin. I could add yoyo diet or to my resume. After I packed on 50 plus pounds with two pregnancies, I decided to change for good. I wanted to stop obsessing about food, stay consistent and set a good, healthy example for my kids, but I kept telling myself that I didn't have the time, the energy or accountability to stay on track until I changed my mindset and created one healthy habit at a time. In this podcast, you will find simple, actionable steps that you can create a healthy lifestyle and get relief from the overwhelm. Spread that dry shampoo, grab your iced coffee, turn up the volume and let's get healthy. Hey there, happy Monday and welcome back to another episode of Hot Miss Mom Help. Thank you for tuning in today.

Speaker 1:

I have to admit, today's episode is not going at all how I wanted it to, so I am pivoting. My technology is failing me and I am having to record this direct on my laptop, so I am praying that it sounds okay and that it doesn't like sounds like a crappy podcast. I would like to think that it sounds normally okay. However, here we are with things not working and, as usual, rebecca, last minute hot mess mom here recording Sunday night before this goes out in full transparency. If there is one thing that you could take away from this, if there's any other lesson, it's that you can still do it, even if it's last minute, and it's okay because we are not perfect here and everything that we do is working towards becoming a better self, and I'm taking this as a lesson to just roll with the punches, figure it out and say there's nothing I can do about it, but I am being consistent. That is my goal and much like our health and wellness. This can be translated basically one for one. So if you're working on a health goal and something happens. You have something happen in your life and maybe it throws off your workout time. If you get sick, it's okay to pivot. It's okay to do what you can in that moment, and I guess this was kind of the universe hitting me in the face with a reminder that not everything is going to look good, not everything is going to go how you want it to go, and you are still going to have to figure it out, and then you're going to have to make it work no matter what. So this is my make it work moment for the week.

Speaker 1:

So, now that that rambling is over, I wanted to just give you guys a little bit of a life update, saying that it's really cool that I'm doing the next couple of days. So me and my husband he's joining me we are going to podcast, and not to say that everybody listening to this should go to podcast, because I know having a podcast, creating a podcast and a business from that is not everyone's dream or something that you're working on, but I really feel like going to events with like-minded people. They fuel your soul. So if it's something that you're interested in maybe improving your health and wellness, find a local meetup that people are working on the same thing. You know, maybe there are tons of health and wellness expos all over the country. So no matter where you're located or even in any country, no matter where you're located there are things out there that you can go and educate yourself on different things that you maybe didn't even hear about. You can network, you can put yourself in the room with people that are looking to better themselves, and my personal belief is that there are powerful things that happen in these sessions, in these events. Just knowing from my corporate job, kind of you know, companies put people together in rooms. They bring all sales teams in, because there is something so powerful about those moments and being together with people that are all working towards a common goal.

Speaker 1:

Now, today's episode it was gonna be short and sweet anyway and that'll do to my technical difficulties. I'm probably gonna shorten this even more, but the moral of the story here is, if you're on a health and wellness goal, if you're on any goal, I'm on a business journey. I'm trying to better this podcast. I wanna network with different unique guests that I can bring to you guys. You know, if something is in your heart, if something is in your soul like you wanna better yourself whether it's a health, or you're looking for a new job, or you wanna get into real estate or whatever it is find something that you can go with more like-minded people, because any journey, any journey in your life is always gonna be easier if you surround yourself with people that are working towards that common goal Period the end. I 1,000 billion percent believe that and I know that I'm just gonna be so fired up when I come back.

Speaker 1:

And, honestly, having a partner by my side that doesn't my husband, honestly, in full transparency, doesn't even listen to podcasts. He's never even listened to mine, which I kinda like, but he has been on this, but he doesn't listen to podcasts. I really want him to come with me so he can understand the podcasting world, so he can support me on my journey, and I know I'm very fortunate to have a partner that is willing to do that thing with me. You know to be going on the journey to just learn and educate themselves, so they maybe think I'm a little less crazy. Debatable, but again, the importance of telling the people that are in your life, that are close to you, the path that you wanna take the journey, that you wanna go on and saying, hey, I would love for you to come attend this thing with me, whether it's a session with a doctor that's doing a talk on something that you're trying to better for yourself. Maybe it's a health and wellness expo, maybe it is some type of big event across the country. Whatever it is, having that partner support you and just explaining to them how important this is for them to also educate themselves so that you can go on the path together.

Speaker 1:

I just think there's something so powerful about all these things and I know for me I'm gonna come back a better person. In some way I'm going to learn something. There's almost no way that can not happen. You know what I mean. So, putting yourself in rooms like minded people, unbelievably supportive, undeniably like worth every penny that I will spend to go, and I wanna encourage you to seek out things with people that you can network with, that you can surround yourself with, that are working towards that goal that you want, whatever it is, whether it's fat loss, putting on muscle, whether it's fixing your diabetes, whether it's an autoimmune disease that you're suffering with, no matter what it is find people that are working on bettering themselves and surround yourself with them, I think you become unstoppable and you have more accountability partners and you have people around you that are in your corner fighting just as hard as you are. It makes working towards any dream, any goal, any accomplishment that much easier. So I'm looking forward to sharing maybe some things about the industry that I learned that may be relevant to health, because there's gonna be a ton of health people there and just coming back a better podcaster, coming back with new ideas, with a bunch of new people to network with and hoping that I can bring you guys more relevant information and really just fuel my passion to podcast and see where this takes me.

Speaker 1:

So if you're looking for something different, completely outside the box to do this year, look at an expo on health. Try to go to a health expo. Seek out what's going on in the health space, even if it's something that you're very early on in your journey of bettering yourself, learning the new technologies that are out there, meeting different doctors that see things differently than maybe doctors that you went to in the past. Just surrounding yourself with things to educate yourself. Another thing that I believe is really powerful is education. Knowledge is power, and the more knowledge you have on something that you're working towards, the better off you will be in the end as well.

Speaker 1:

So, just a little, like I said, life update I'm going to pot-fest in Orlando.

Speaker 1:

I'm fortunate enough to have a family that's watching my kids, and I'm fortunate enough to have a husband that is willing to go with me and support me on this journey, and I hope that you can find something on your path to better yourself this year that you can go and attend.

Speaker 1:

Do something different, like for me, this is scary. Like I don't do stuff like this. Like I always go to my corporate events, I always do my work stuff, but I don't do something like this from me. So I'm gonna take this time, I'm gonna cherish it and I'm really gonna focus on what I'm working on personally. That is feeding my soul at the moment, and I hope that you can find something that does that for you this year too. I'll chat with you guys next week.
